Color - Augmented Monochrome Abstract Paintings

  • I think the contrast created by casting the bright colors against the black-and-white mid-tone backgrounds creates an elegant presentation.

It reminds me of the initial thrill when I first saw The Wizard of Oz as a young child, where the screen lit up suddenly —— or maybe the magic of that first time my family moved on from the old black-and-white TVs to the world of technicolor, maybe in the early Nineteen Sixties.

I’m also playing with my minimalist bent in the context of geometric constructions. The lines seem so clean and — to me, once again — elegant.
