Painting in Black and White…and Sometimes Accents

I like the rich austerity found in black, white, and shades between as they are laid down on paper, generally informed by some gestural intent. And red accentuates it all.

The combination conveys a mood, a feeling, a quality of bodily movement, or, as with ‘Jung’s Butterfly’ or ‘Emerging’ - two pieces below - efforts to articulate in paint the unfolding sense of a concept.
